Converse Rubber Tracks selected Indaba Music as their exclusive partner to give musicians the opportunity to create and build awareness for their music, both in and outside of the recording studio.
Together, Converse and Indaba Music are laser-focused on supporting and developing musical talent. With more than 32 million Likes on Facebook and 80,000 followers on Twitter, it is a giant among the world’s brands. Connecting Indaba members with this cool brand could boost your musical career.
For this reason, Indaba Music is hosting a series of unique Converse Opportunities, which started out with the “Make it Black” Contest, whose winners are currently recording in Converse’s Rubber Tracks Studio in Brooklyn, New York. It is being followed by the Warrior “Remix” Opportunity which asks Indaba Music members to remix “Warrior” featuring Kimbra, Mark Foster and A-Trak to win $2,500.
Next up will be the Rubber Tracks In The Mix Opportunity: It will showcase Rubber Tracks Recording Artist I Am Lightyear looking for hot remixes of the song Lose Myself. The winner receives a cash price, a Converse gift card and exposure.
In October 2012, Converse will launch the new video content series In Search of Sound: Brooklyn. Indaba Music artists will create original music out of recorded sounds of various landmarks and establishments in Brooklyn, New York. These sounds can include the sound of cutting meat at local deli or the passing cars on the BQE.
Converse’s MyMusicRX opportunity, which will be launched in December of 2012, brings the first in a series of charitable initiatives to the Indaba Music community with the Children’s Cancer Association’s MyMusicRx program. This digital program connects seriously ill kids to the healing power of music. Indaba Music members will turn these kids’ musical ideas, which may be an original lyric, melody or audio stem, into songs. The winner’s tracks will be distributed through music retailers including iTunes and all revenue will be donated back to the MyMusicRx program – Good tunes for a good cause.
And this is just the beginning: There is A LOT MORE of this to come.
The winners will be featured on the brand’s web properties. Indaba Music gives you the unique chance of multiplying your exposure in a way that this community hasn’t experienced before.
We are thrilled about being able to open these doors for you. Hop on board, enter the contests and get your killer tracks out to the world.
