On Friday, March 16th, Indaba Music hopes to see you at our SXSW showcase featuring some of the best emerging artists we know. Oh, and by the way, we’re looking for one amazing band to fill out the bill and perform for the SXSW attendees at the Bandpage HQ! Every year thousands of music executives and music fans flock to downtown Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest music festival to see the latest and greatest independent artists showcase their talents. The careers of acts like the White Stripes, M.I.A. and Foster The People have been launched from the Austin festival. Now it’s your chance to get heard!
Here are the requirements:
Over the past few months we’ve been working tirelessly on assembling all the music and footage from our trip to Mayne Island with Josh Garrels last summer. As you might know, the fruit of that trip will be a feature-length documentary: The Sea In Between. The film will explore Josh’s hand-built career, the process of collaborating on Mayne Island, and the challenges and rewards of being an artist in the 21st century. Today we are happy to share the trailer for the film with you:
Congratulations to Mad Maude & the Hatters from Beaumont, Texas! Lead by vocalists Jenny Carson, Adrienne Ryherd and Ashlynn Ivy, this eclectic, soulful supergroup (inspired by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles and Diana Ross) are opening for the Vivian Girls at SXSW on March 15th.
