Indaba Music’s 2012 Summer Interns

At Indaba Music, we’re known for having amazing interns. Nearly 50% of our staff began as interns that we just couldn’t let go. Each semester we look forward to meeting exciting and passionate students who connect with our staff and want to help bring our international community of musicians professional opportunities.

This summer, I’d like you to meet Alex, Allie, Kevin 1, Kevin 2, Charles, Ieva and Milton. They’re an incredible bunch and though we had wanted to share stories from each, one intern in particular wrote a heartfelt piece about his experience at of our offices.

We hope you enjoy the letter below and if you’re ever looking to join the fun, please email us at jobs@indabamusic.com. We think you’ll like it here.

Ambition is built on passion, ambition is driven by motivation, motivation is heightened by self-fulfillment, and self-fulfillment feeds itself back into passion. This is a cycle in which we are all caught in seeking the way forward into the real world; this is how we find ourselves. Dawn Landes Performs at Indaba Music HQ

For our last Third Thursday event, we welcomed Kentucky born Dawn Landes to share her French influenced folkie tales with us on our Indaba Music HQ stage.

She first traveled to Paris to perform in the Les Femmes s’en Mêlent festival as a 22 year old songwriter which led her to a successful series of album releases with Paris-based label, Fargo.  She has been praised by European press and appeared on many French radio programs, touring the French countryside with artists such as Feist and Andrew Bird.

Enjoy her English melodies in the video above!
